Quietube
2009
Quietube is a simple bookmark and website for watching Youtube and other online videos without distractions.
After launch, Quietube was featured on CNET, Lifehacker, Buzzfeed and other popular sites, gaining hundreds of thousands of visits in its first month. It seemed to strike a chord, and is ongoing. Even William Gibson uses it.
Subsequently, Quietube was used by millions of people in the Middle East as an anti-censorship proxy, allowing access to Youtube in places where it was blocked. As of Summer 2010, it was attracting around 1.5 million visitors per month.
